Our main meetings together happen on Sunday mornings, but there is a lot more to church life that happens throughout the week.

We pray together outloud[Acts 4:24] “they lifted up their voice to God with one accord…” We lift our hands in praise[Psalm 134:2] “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” We sing with all our hearts[Psalm 98:4] “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”We play musical instruments[II Samuel 6:5] “…and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments…”We clap and shout unto God[Psalm 47:1] “…O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”We dance in the spirit[Psalm 150:4] “…Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.”We testify publicly[Psalm 22:22] “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.”We anoint with oil for divine healing[James 5:14] “Is there any sick amoung you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”We allow the operation of the spiritual gifts[I Corinthians 14:26] “…when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation…”

Step One: Repentance

Jesus died and so must we by repentance. Have faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and repent. Believe Jesus Christ is Lord and died for you. Be sorry for your sins and recognize your need of the Savior in Acts 3:19. Determine to turn from sin and give your life completely to Him. Not to be confused with: Salvation itself. Believing is necessary and leads to the other steps. See Acts 8:12-17 and Acts 11:14-18.

Step Two: Baptism
Jesus was buried and so must we by baptism. Be baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ. Be buried with him by total immersion in water. Have the saving name of Jesus Christ pronounced over you as in Acts 22:16. Obtain remission of sins in baptism through obedience and faith in His name.Not to be confused with: Repeating the titles “Father, Son, Holy Ghost” and sprinkling or pouring. See Acts 8:35-38 and Acts 19:1-6.

Step Three: Holy Ghost
Jesus rose and so must we by receiving the Holy Ghost. Receive the Holy Ghost baptism evidenced by tongues. Meet the conditions of repentance, faith and obedience. Believe God has promised it and that you can receive it as in Acts 2:4. Know that tongues is the initial evidence of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.Not to be confused with: Tongues as a prayer language or one of the optional gifts of the Spirit. See John 7:38-39 and Acts 10:44-48.

Pastor Eddie Robinson Jr: I was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 22 in 1976. I met my wife, Deborah, at church and we were married in 1979. I have five children plus I raised a niece. My niece and four of my children are saved. I was called to the ministry in 1982. Graduated on August 9, 1995 from Aenon Bible College with an Associates Degree in Theology and ordained August 9, 1995. My service to the church has been as Deacon, associate minister, usher, choir member, bus driver, local church youth leader, local church youth advisor, Sunday School teacher, vacation bible school teacher, Fun-n-Games worker, tarrying committee, Pastor’s Aid chairperson, member of Outreach Ministry, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Northeastern District Vice Chairman of the ABSA, Northeastern District Chairman of the ABSA, and Assistant Pastor. The Lord led us to Christ Temple Church in Anderson in 1991 where my uncle, District Elder Hosea Barnes, was the pastor. In April of 2000, he made me the assistant pastor. Because of District Elder Barnes declining health, he handed the mantle to me on February 22, 2005. By the help of the Lord we are striving to make a difference in Anderson, Indiana, by spreading the gospel. Looking for the glorious return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray our labor will inspire others to join up with those that have made themselves ready.
First Lady Deborah Robinson: Born in 1957 I was the only daughter and youngest child of Warren and Mary Levi. My father did not attend church, but my mother was a faithful member of the Methodist church. Once I received the revelation of the oneness of God and baptism in Jesus name, I became a member of Christ Temple Apostolic in Muncie at the age of 17. I was blessed to marry Eddie Robinson, have four children, raise my niece and they are all saved. I also have a step-daughter. After transferring to Christ Temple in Anderson, in 1991, I have served on the tarrying committee, Planning Committee for programs and as an usher, altar worker, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher then became director, Fun-n-Games worker then became director, choir member, server in the dining room, Easter and Christmas program director, play director, and started Sisters’ Fellowship, Formal dinner for the youth, Family Night and Youth-n-Praize. Along with the duties of being First Lady and secretary of our church, I still work with the children of our assembly with hope of planting a seed in them that will grow to love God.

HISTORYIn 1941, a young man left the church where he was saved, left the city in which he was residing, took his wife, and started a work. That young man was Armster Barnes and his wife Gladys Barnes. Elder Armster Barnes gave up his job to become full time pastor of the church. He trusted that God would make the way. Together, Elder and Sister Barnes prayed, sacrificed, and did without to build the heritage that we have today. On July 6, 1941, he founded or established a church in Sis. Ida William’s basement of her home on the corner of 22nd Street and Halford in Anderson, Indiana. The Lord blessed and three more were added to the church. The membership was about five. In 1942, a house was purchased at 1412 Madison Avenue. The front of the house was renovated for a church. The back two rooms were used for Elder and Sister Barnes living quarters. In the year 1943, the Lord began to bless and souls began to get saved. Elder Barnes was at this church on Madison Avenue until the Redevelopment Project came through and bought that building. They had to move. Three lots were purchased where the present edifice went under construction in the year 1965. The brothers of the church helped in building our church. The congregation moved into the unfinished building in August 1966 working, praying, worshiping God, and having a wonderful time in the Lord. In 1979 three additional lots were purchased east of the church. District Elder Hosea Barnes and his wife, Eula Barnes, came to Anderson to help his uncle (Pastor Armster Barnes) in 1979. In September, 1982, District Elder Hosea Barnes was installed as pastor. 1 lot was purchased across the street (south) from the church in 1982 to use as an additional parking lot, which makes a total of three parking lots. Elder and Sister Hosea Barnes carried on the dreams of the former pastor and worked to be a help to the people of God and upbuild God’s kingdom. As of February 22, 2005, District Elder Hosea Barnes passed the mantle down to his nephew, Elder Eddie Robinson, due to District Elder Hosea Barnes’ health. Elder Eddie Robinson and his wife, Sister Deborah Robinson, have been faithful members of Christ Temple since 1991 and have worked in several capacities. On June 4, 2005, Elder Eddie Robinson was installed as pastor of Christ Temple and through his teaching and preaching, the Lord is adding to the church, and we are looking for greater things from the Lord.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENTWe Believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible (unalterable) Word of God, written by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.We Believe in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.We Believe that He was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust Him.We Believe that in Jesus, dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell.We Believe in the virgin birth. Jesus was both human and divine. He was God manifested in the flesh.We Believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and has sent His Spirit (the Holy Ghost), which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today.We Believe in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth.We Believe in a holy, sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing. We believe also in the glorious catching away of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to heaven (the Rapture).Our Chief Aim is to glorify the Savior, who is Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
